Did you ever try to find a lost friend on the Internet?

Have you ever tried to find a lost friend on the Internet? I have it is not as easy as you might think. I had a good friend in junior high and I have fond memories of hanging out having fun with him. We would hang out listen to music talk just have a great time.

The other day I was thinking about my long-lost friend and I decided to try to find them on the Internet. It seems everyone nowadays uses the Internet so I figured it shouldn’t be difficult to locate him. I pulled up Google typed his name and get pages on pages of results. I checked out page after page but didn’t find any mention of my friend just a lot of people with similar names.

I decided try to narrow my search a bit by including the town and state where we grew up. Unfortunately they were still too many pages to look through for it to be practical to find my lost friend. I decided Google just gave to many results so I would try using a less popular search engine like MSN.

I typed in my friends name and the city and state where we grew up and sure enough I did get a lot fewer results. Instead of hundreds of pages there are only eight. I started looking through those pages of results and I found a couple which I thought would surely lead me to find my lost friend. However, after an hour of searching I still came up empty.

Then I decided to try Yahoo. Since Yahoo search has been around longer than Google or MSN I thought I might have better luck there. Again I entered my friends name the city and state and this time I got about 30 pages of results. I started the arduous task of looking through each and every page and clicking on link after link. Now I was getting frustrated I spent all this time and still cannot find my lost friend.

I pretty much gave up on finding my friend until a couple months later when I discovered reunion.com. I decided to give the site a try and I was amazed at how quickly I was able to turn up results for my lost friend. The service was not free but considering the amount of time I have wasted trying to search in the regular search engines it was definitely worth the small price.

I was able to find a phone number for my friend and I gave them a call. He was very happy to hear from me. In fact, he had been searching for me also. We have a long phone conversation and it turns out that he lived close enough that we could meet for lunch. Although it was more difficult to locate my lost friend than I had imagined it was great to find him and I’m glad I put in the effort.

Cold And Flu Prevention – What Really Works?

Trying to avoid catching cold and flu this season?

Probably so, if you’re anything like the rest of us. But are there any truly effective cold and flu prevention methods that could keep you well this winter?

Yes, there are – from simple hand washing to taking the right supplement. Here are the general principles most everyone is familiar with:

  • Wash your hands often – We all pick up germs and viruses on pencils, doorknobs, computer keyboards, etc. Wash hands often and scrub for at least 30 seconds to wash them away.
  • Eat well by eating a balanced diet including plenty of fruits, vegetables, natural fiber and sufficient protein.
  • Avoid sweets and processed foods. Eating too many sweets creates imbalances in your body, which make you more succeptible to bugs.
  • Stay warm – wear appropriate clothing and shoes to keep warm. Be sure to keep your head and ears covered outdoors.
  • Stay fit – exercise to keep your heart and body healthy, in good shape and to burn calories.
  • Get enough sleep – your body needs to rest and rejuvenate. Insufficient sleep strains the brain and weakens your immunity.

The above steps are all important and necessary, but they may not be enough. Are there additional steps you can take to increase your chances of avoiding cold and flu? There certainly are. Here are a few:

  • When you can’t wash your hands, use a hand purifier. But you don’t want one loaded with chemicals and artificial fragrances that can absorb through your skin. Use a natural product instead. Thieves Waterless Hand Purifier promotes good hygiene without the use of water or toxic ingredients. It’s a great way to get the natural, germ-fighting cleansing power of the antimicrobial essential oil in a handy, carry-with-you-anywhere bottle.
  • Bolster your immunity with a nutritional supplement like Inner Defense – the total health system protection that reinforces systemic defenses in the immune system, creates unfriendly terrain for yeast/fungus and promotes healthy respiratory function. Its potent blend of oregano, thyme, and Thieves essential oils are rich in thymol, carvacrol, and eugenol for powerful immune support.
  • Diffuse antimicrobial essential oil – Diffusing the right essential oil can not only decrease your exposure to cold and flu bugs in the air, but it can strengthen your immunity to them.
  • What essential oil is best? Studies conducted at Weber State University show that the Thieves essential oil blend has a 99.96 percent success rate against airborne bacteria. You’ll find more information about Thieves on the diffusing page mentioned above.

There is no need to feel helpless this season – or to spend the season sneezing and coughing. Pay attention to the general principles listed above and try the additional steps for natural and effective cold and flu prevention.

Had an Accident? You Will Need to Fill Out a DMV SR1 Form

If you are one of the many who have been involved in an accident at any point in your life, you will probably understand that there is a process through which everyone involved in an accident must go. First of all, you will need to call the police. Be very sure that at all times you have proof of insurance in your glove box, because the two things you will have to present to the police are your driver’s license and your proof of insurance card. The office will give you an DMV SR1 form, which you will fill out and send in to the DMV. Let me urge you to take of this step right away. Do not let any time lapse, because failure to file an DMV SR1 form will result in revocation or suspension of your driving privileges.

After you have reported your accident, both drivers must exchange information. This information must include proof of insurance and policy numbers, telephone numbers and other relevant contact information, such as the addresses of all parties involved in the accident. Most accident claims are fairly straightforward, but even so, it is crucial that all parties have proper information in order to satisfy not only state and local laws but also to keep happy all the insurance companies involved. And of course, once again, the DMV SR1 form must be filled out by all involved drivers. This cannot be emphasized enough. Too many times, drivers have not provided adequate proof of insurance and this has resulted in loss of their licenses, not to mention the high cost to the other driver for repairs and other expenses.

The SR1 regulation came into being because of abuses by uninsured motorists who failed to cover the costs involved in accidents. Filing an DMV SR1 form demonstrates that you and all parties involved in your accident are acting in good faith and are willing to fulfill their obligations. It takes just a few paltry minutes to fill out this form and send it in and it can save so much trouble! Once the form has been taken care of, you will have to deal with any damage to your vehicle and arrange for a rental car to provide you with a source of transportation while your vehicle is in the repair shop. And then you are all done and all of the formalities have been observed.
