What Do You Need For P90X – The Absolute Minimum
Below is the minimum P90X gear that you’ll need to get through the program:
P90X DVD’s (“P90X Training System”)- Comes with the 12 workout P90X DVD’s, a nutrition plan, as well as a fitness guide.
You’re gonna need a pull up bar – You cannot do this system without one, seeing as three of the workouts in P90X use a pull up bar.
Resistance Bands or Dumbbells- Either of those will work, but you’ll need at least one or the other. I’m using dumbbells that I bought from Wal-Mart (it was a set that goes up to 20lbs on each dumbbell, I paid about $40 for it). The resistance bands are great for when you travel.
What Do You Need For P90X – Some Luxury Items
In addition to the above, I’ll also be using these optional P90X fitness gear:
P90X Results and Recovery Formula – This is a special drink that will enable you to recover quicker from the workouts. The ideal time to take it will be within an hour of completing your workout.
Whey Protein – In order to build muscle, you are going to need a good quantity of protein in your diet. It’s a good option for snacking, and it’s quick and easy to make into a shake.
A Yoga mat – This can be a good thing to own when doing the ab routines in P90X. We have hard wood floors so it makes things a lot more comforatble, but it isn’t a manditory thing to have.
Yoga Blocks (2)- I’m definitely a beginner at yoga, so these have really helped out. These help stabilize you and deepen your posture during difficult poses.
Heart Rate Monitor – This is a great tool to possess, it helps you track the number of calories you burn and it keeps you from pushing your heart rate too high.
Push up stands – these will help you get deeper into your push up, and it will help relieve some of the stress put on your wrists. .
I hope you enjoyed what do you need for P90X!
