Getting a Good Deal on a PS3

Have you ever tried to find a PS3 on sale? I guess that enough people are still buying them that you don’t see them on sale often. It can be annoying if you only have a set amount of money to work with and it’s not quite enough to make the purchase.

I feel your pain! I’ve tried to justify the purchase in so many ways. I knew I could try to sell my old PS2 and even the games to raise money for a PS3 fund. I’ve given serious thought to cleaning out my closet, trying to find some of those old jeans that now seem to be in fashion and see if I could sell them on eBay. I even cleaned out the garage scrounging for old tools and junk that I haven’t used in years so I could sell them on eBay. We even put our stuff in a neighborhood sale to come up with the funds to buy a PS3. Not including my time I made about $50. I don’t recommend garage sales as you’ll end up getting less money for your stuff! eBay is a much better way to go as you’ll net more profits.

I’ve been there before. You seem to get so much more from the PS3 than from the Xbox or Wii. I was sold when I found it was Blu-Ray. Not only are all the games HD but now my movies are too. Try selling that angle to the wife! Once I was able to get my wife to really look at HD she was convinced and we’ve never gone back to analog. At the end of the day it turned out to be easy to persuade her to get the PS3 on every front except the price.

I’ve been around the block on this concept and if I have not been able to find a better deal on a game system that also plays Blu-Ray than the PS3. Even when it’s not on sale! The average Blu-Ray player will cost you $200-$250 but it doesn’t play games. While XBox does offer HD it is not the preferred format. For me it was all about the hunt and getting the PS3 at a true sale price.

I searched on eBay and some other traditional auction sites and found that there really aren’t any PS3 Sale Prices out there. They show perceived value by including all these extras that you may or may not even care about. When I’m trying to spend as little money as possible this just doesn’t work for me.

I had to get creative with my thinking and break away from the herd. I began looking into unique bid auction sites. For my money there is simply no comparison to www.auctions4acause.com. They have much more selection among everyday items than most of the other sites including the PS3. The majority of the other sites like it zero in on really expensive things like cars, land and motorcycles. That’s all well and good but I just want a PS3!

I knew I had a winner when I found that site. They had 2 items going for them in that they had the item I wanted at a potentially very inexpensive price. I cruised on over to their site an account. I rung up 3 bids and knew I had the lowest and unique bid. I was only slightly discouraged when I didn’t win the first time. I waited a week before another one came available to bid on. I placed 3 more bids on it and crossed my fingers and waited. Bingo! This time I had a winner. About 6 days later I was unpacking the new PS3. $59 was all I had spent.64. Not too shabby, huh?

It can take a few minutes of reading to truly grasp the concept of the lowest unique bid auction style. But once you get it, it can be addicting. Since that time that I won the PS3 I’ve bid on and won 3 other items including an iPod Nano (they have the best iPod Prices) and $400 gas card. I’m getting about 4 to 1 on my money so far with $1,200 in items for less than $360 in bidding.

If you’re looking for the best prices don’t bother with the Best Buys or Walmarts. Create an account at Auctions4aCause and see what kind of deal you can get.
